The HCF Board of Directors is a community of like-minded individuals who support Dr. DuPree’s vision to provide healing therapies essential to overall health and wellness. Many are also THRIVERS, others are caring medical professionals who work to heal others every day.
Our experienced group of healing practitioners and fitness instructors care deeply about each individual’s needs and tailor a program to meet them.
Dr. Beth DuPree | Founder and President
Dr. Beth DuPree is the Medical Director Oncology Service Line Northern Arizona Healthcare, Vice President Health at Holy Redeemer Health System, She completed a residency in general surgery at Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia and is an adjunct assistant professor of surgery at the University of Philadelphia. She is a board certified general surgeon specializing in Diseases of the Breast. She has also obtained dual board certification in Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She trains young breast surgical fellows in the art and science of breast care. She is a mother, wife, and skilled surgeon who has been honored for her humanitarian endeavors as well as her medical work. In 2007, Dr. DuPree founded The Healing Consciousness Foundation (HCF), a non-profit organization inspired by the book she wrote entitled The Healing Consciousness: A Doctor’s Journey to Healing. Dr. William Scarlett | Vice President
Dr. William Scarlett joined the HCF Board as Vice President in 2017. He is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon practicing outside of Philadelphia. Dr. Scarlett is Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery, PCOM, in Philadelphia, Chief of Surgery and Director of Surgical Services at Holy Redeemer Hospital, and Medical Director of Restorative Plastic Surgery in Bensalem. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Osteopathic Specialists and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. Dr. Scarlett is a graduate of Dickinson College and the University of Des Moines medical school.
He serves as an associate clinical professor for the plastic surgery program as well as a frequent lecturer at the medical school. Dr. Scarlett co-founded a research company in order to advance patient care. He has received multiple awards and published numerous papers in his respective field. He recently contributed the breast reconstruction chapters for the book Surviving Cancer: Our Voices and Choices as well as An Inside Job: Healing Wisdom for Your Cancer Journey. He is the co-director of the HCF Breast Cancer Survivorship Experience.
Dr. Scarlett is currently in private practice in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, where the focus of his practice is breast reconstruction. He has patents pending on devices related to breast cancer care and is working on publishing his first book entitled Demanding Compassion. Dr. Scarlett travels nationally teaching new techniques in breast reconstruction. He has developed workshops for cancer patients to help them deal with the psychosocial aspects cancer. He is a proud father and husband and completed his first half Ironman last year.
Mary Conaway | Secretary
Mary Conaway began working with the HCF in the summer of 2016. She became the HCF Secretary in May 2018 and is very involved in all the activities of the HCF. Mary has been working at Holy Redeemer Health System for over 12 years and has strong administration skills. Mary was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia where she currently resides with her family.
Ann Griffiths | Executive Director
Ann Griffiths is a founding Board member and brings to the foundation excellent organizational and management capabilities to successfully lead and mentor others. With wide-ranging experience in Senior Management in the Information Technology Industry, she possesses extensive experience in all aspects of corporate management including exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. She is a proven leader that gains success through networking, mentoring and motivating others Ann was named one of Pennsylvania’s 50 Best Women in Business and we are thrilled to have her as our first Executive Director.
Jodi Hutchinson | Thrivers Committee Chair
Jodi Hutchinson joined the HCF in 2014. She was the Director of the Integrative Medicine and Wellness Initiative for the Holy Redeemer Healthcare System until 2018. She spent nearly 20 years as a cardiac surgery physician assistant championing and implementing complementary healing modalities for patients, families, and staff. Eventually, she made a spirited decision to leave her career and walk across the stages of the world, living moment by moment in total surrender.
Michelle Brown | BCBF Liaison
Michelle has been the Bucks County Breast Friends (BCBF) Liaison for the HCF board since July 2016. She started volunteering time to the HCF in 2011. She is the current team leader for the BCBF’s and has done a great job getting her team in place to move the BCBF’s forward. Her healing journey began 7 years ago when she was blessed to have my appointment with Beth DuPree. She is so grateful to god for putting Beth and The Healing Consciousness Foundation into her life. The healing modalities she received and continue to receive are priceless! Breast cancer was a true blessing and awakening in her life and for that trial, without it she would have never have met Beth and experienced the HCF.
Pamela St. Germaine | Sedona Breast Friends Liaison
Pamela joined the HCF board as the Sedona Breast Friends Liaison in February 2018. She is an experienced marketing specialist and events coordinator and is known for her abilities in organizing and fundraising for non-profit organizations such as Sedona Jazz on the Rock’s 30th Anniversary in 2011. Pamela’s greatest passion is connecting individuals seeking investments in successful business developments. Since her diagnosis in August 2017, Pamela feels her Holy Journey of healing has re-directed this passion to encourage and support others in their journey towards wholeness. Thus the reason she is excited to be Sedona’s Breast Friends’ liaison assisting in launching this Divinely Guided position. Caregiving her 100 year young Mother continues the example of ‘healthy minds equate to healthy bodies.’ Pamela also enjoys her 10 grandchildren (3 great-grandchildren), painting, piano, poetry and hiking the Red Rocks of Sedona with her 2 pups, Coco and Chloe!
Emily Guilbert | 2016 RMC Volunteer
Emily Guilbert committed to a year of service through the Redeemer Ministry Corps volunteer program in August of 2016. She hails from Roswell, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, where her parents and twin sister also reside. She is a recent alumna of the University of Georgia in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Spanish. She is excited for what her year with HCF will teach her about acting as a healing presence to others and future career opportunities in healthcare.
Ashley Pickert | 2015 RMC Volunteer
Ashley Pickert committeed to a year of service through the Redeemer Ministry Corps volunteer program in August of 2015. She is from Kansas City and has three younger brothers. She graduated from the University of Dallas in May of 2015 with a degree in Spanish and completed the pre-med requirements. She played softball all four years during college and made some incredible memories. In the future, she plans on going to medical school and hopes to become a dermatologist. Before she heads to medical school and puts the focus back on her own life, she is taking a year to focus on God and her community. As an RMC volunteer, she hopes to assist those who cannot help themselves both medically and spiritually. In learning how to help them, she will be better prepared to attend to those who need her in the future.
Anna Smaron | 2014 RMC Volunteer
Anna Smaron committed to a year of service through the Redeemer Ministry Corps volunteer program in 2014. She graduated from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in May of 2014 with a Biology major and Spanish minor. She is looking forward to being a healing presence to those around her and having the opportunity to immerse herself in the field of healthcare. Anna would like to take this year to broaden her knowledge and discern a potential career path for the future.
Catherine Baker | 2012 RMC
Catherine Baker has been working with HCF since becoming a Redeemer Ministry Corps (RMC) volunteer through Holy Redeemer Health System. In May, she graduated from Bucknell University with a double major in Biology and French. She started at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine in the fall of 2013. In the time she has been working with HCF and Holy Redeemer, she has learned about what it means to heal instead of simply treat a patient. She looks forward to becoming a doctor and hopes to be able to work with HCF in the future.
