Bowenwork
.
Bowenwork is a gentle, non-invasive soft tissue therapy that helps relax and rebalance the body, triggering a healing response. A Bowenwork session will pull the body out of fight or flight, resetting muscle tension patterns and supporting organ function. Bowenwork can help speed recovery after surgery, help prevent lymphedema, aid nausea and digestive issues, and address back, hip, knee, neck and shoulder pain and restriction. A Bowenwork session involves one or more “procedures,” each of which consists of several sets of gentle rolling moves of the practitioner’s fingers over the area of focus on the client’s body. Between each set of moves, the practitioner pauses for a few minutes to give the client’s body time to integrate the moves. Unlike other forms of bodywork the client wears light clothing and no oil is used. Because it involves gentle touch, Bowenwork is completely safe and appropriate for everyone from newborns to the very elderly and frail.
