Breast Cancer Education Bracelet

The bracelet concept is that of Dr. Beth DuPree and Jenni B Jewelry. The largest center rose quartz is 2 CM (20mm), the size a mass in the breast is likely to be if a woman does not do monthly breast self exam and just happens to notice the change in her breast one day. The small pink rose quartz is 8mm which is the average size of a cancer found by a mammogram through early detection with annual screening mammography. The silver beads increase by 2mm each and represent the continuum of breast lesion sizes from the smallest silver bead 4mm to largest pink rose quartz bead 20mm. The 10-12-14mm beads are the average size of a mass found by a woman who performs monthly breast self exam.

This bracelet represents the importance of breast cancer awareness in addition to reminding women to perform monthly breast self exams and routine annual mammograms.
